Ellie is an undergraduate Psychology student at the University of York and budding researcher with an interest in young people’s mental health. She is a member of the McPin Young People’s Network and works alongside them, and other institutions, contributing to research that aims to make a positive change to the current state of mental health research and support. Recently, she co-authored her first publication alongside researchers at Imperial College London (funded by the Wellcome Trust) focusing on the prevention of anxiety and depression in young people through digital social connection. She also sat on the UKRI Young Persons Review Group for 2020 and has been an active member of the Young People’s Advisory Teams for University of Oxford and Imperial College London, among others. Currently, she is working on a special interest research group that she co-created in collaboration with researchers at Emerging Minds and Coventry University specialising in support for parents and carers of young people with mental health difficulties.
